Shading Study Results
John Connell was able to import the master plan into Sketch up to look in 3d at the shading effects of the hillside on the main buildings proposed in the master plan. A snapshot of some specific days is included below:
In the last image I placed a purple footprint of the proposed Main Building where it would need to be sited if the staff wanted to arrive at 9am in December with even the slightest smidgen of daylight peaking into their offices. And yet in the current location, all eastern elevations have full exposure by 10am. Still,the modeling is very rough and spotty. Once we have the campus layout transposed onto an accurate topo (survey) we will run more thorough modeling and for the entire year.
